Keep on truckin'

Visitors to the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston can keep on trucking this coming weekend, as Truckfest Scotland returns to offer a great day out for the whole family.

The latest super trucks from America and Europe will be on show, while monster trucks Sling Shot and Swamp Thing will be displaying their car crushing prowess over the weekend as well. With working trucks rumbling around, and all the latest models from manufacturers on display, it’s easy to understand why Truckfest is the highlight of the trucking calendar.

The premier UK truck awards will be taking place too, with categories including best working, best fleet and best custom. Many of the vehicles will showcase their stunning artwork, that includes designs inspired by Braveheart, Rocky and Star Wars. And the Road Rescue Recovery Association (RRRA) will host their annual Scottish exhibition, with some of the largest recovery wreckers on show.

It’s not just about the trucks, as a host of celebrities will be in attendance as well. Forth FM DJ Boogie will co-host all the action in the main arena, while Coronation Street’s Scottish star Tony Gordon, and the soap’s blonde barmaid Becky Granger will be appearing.

On the Sunday, Radio 2’s sultry voiced traffic presenter Sally Boazman will drop by, as will Rab C Nesbitt star Gregor Fisher.

And there will be more action from motorcycle stunt team UKFMX, and, for the first time ever at Truckfest, Jet Pack Man.

Truckfest Scotland is at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, on Saturday August 2 and Sunday August 3 from 9am to 6pm.
