When the Antiques Roadshow visited Kelvingrove Museum and Gallery in 2006, the queues snaked all around the grounds.

This summer the hugely popular BBC series is coming to Dumfries House, where its team of experts will cast their expert eyes over family heirlooms, investments and knick knacks.

Whether you picked up an interesting find at a car boot sale or found something old in the attic, the experts will be on hand all day to share their knowledge. As long as you join a queue by 4.30pm, you will have the chance to speak to someone about your item.

You may discover that your item is priceless, but viewers are more interested in the stories behind the more unusual pieces. In the words of new presenter Fiona Bruce (pictured), "The Antiques Roadshow isn't just about antiques – it's history, beauty and drama all wrapped up in one."

The Antiques Roadshow team visit Dumfries House in Cumnock on July 10. They'll be back in Scotland on September 4, at Caird Hall in Dundee. Advance viewings or transportation of large or heavy items may be possible – email details and photographs to antiques.roadshow@bbc.co.uk.
