Springburn Park will be bursting with activity on July 19 when Fun in the Park takes place in the north of the city.

The 2007 event attracted around 6,500 people to the scenic 31-hectare park, and organisers will be hoping for sunny weather and an even bigger turn-out this year.

Entertainment will include live music, displays of falconry and mountain biking, storytelling and a canine display team. Just for little ones there's also a bouncy castle, face painting and a giant slide, and for mums and dads there will be therapeutic massages on offer.

Those looking for a challenge can tackle a giant climbing wall or bungee run – what's more, all the activities are free.

There will be stalls representing local organisations such as Friends of Springburn Park, and information on everything from community safety to volunteering and stopping smoking.

Fun in the Park is as Springburn Park on July 19 from noon.
