by Shona CravenCyclists young and old will be getting in gear on June 28 as part of the NSPCC's Big Bike Ride.
Participants who fancy a leisurely day out can opt to pedal along a 5km route around Holyrood Park in Edinburgh and a 1km circuit in Duthie Park in Aberdeen. Those with the stamina and determination to raise sponsorship funds can complete circuits and clock up the kilometres.
Riders can register in advance at www.bigbikeride.co.uk, or just turn up on the day. 'Any distance makes a difference' is the event's tagline, and participants donate £5 (£2.50 for children) to enter.
The proceeds from both rides go towards Childline Scotland, the vital service for young people in need of advice and support.
Big Bike Rides for Childline Scotland take place on June 28 at Holyrood Park, Edinburgh and Duthie Park, Aberdeen.
