Perfect pedigree
by Gillian HarveyDog lovers are in for a treat when the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show hits Edinburghs Royal Highland Centre.
Scotlands answer to Crufts comes to the area for a three-day competition, during which dogs and their owners will compete in all sections to lift the coveted top title.
Dogs will be put through their paces in this round of the twice-yearly event, as they are checked out on their standard of obedience training, utility and agility, and general skill level by a range of judges who are experts in their area.
Look out for all different breeds, from English Setters and Spaniels, to Siberian Huskys and even Norwegian Elkhounds.
Even those who dont have a dog entered in the competition can still enjoy the event. But be warned - if you take the kids, expect to be pestered for a puppy afterwards!
The Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show is at Edinburgh's Royal Highland Centre from May 16-18.
