M&D's: Scotland's Theme Park

Think Scotland is short of wild ride attractions? Take a look at M&D’s, then...

Set in the heart of Central Scotland at Strathclyde Country Park, M&D’s has fun for all the family, from white-knuckle rides for the strong-hearted (and stomached), to gentler rides for younger kids.

Attractions include the twisty-turny Tsunami, Scotland’s only inverted roller-coaster, in which you hang beneath the track; the 80 kph Tornado with its 360-degree loops; and The Express, with its 500m track. There’s also White Water, a terrifying bungee ball which flings you high into the air, and the Magic Carpet.

For the more sedate, there’s Amazonia, Scotland’s only indoor rainforest, packed with tropical animals, plus bowling, a ferris wheel, arcade amusements, pool bars and restaurants.

There are more than 40 rides and attractions in all, and entry and parking is free. Prices vary from ride to ride, and unlimited ride armbands are £9 or £13 depending on height.
