Walking in Chatelherault

Chatelherault near Hamilton is a great place to go for an easy walk suitable for most abilities. When we went (Hogmanay 2009) there was snow on the ground making the steeper paths very slippery and difficult, and one of the bridges was out which meant we had to take the long way round. But even with those extra obstacles it wasn't a hard walk - under normal circumstances, it would be suitable for children. It's a pleasant wooded walk, mostly flat but with one or two very steep paths. The paths are clearly signposted from the cafe and gift shop where you start and finish. Good for a Sunday afternoon.
