Down among the dead men
Spooky. Gothic. Romantic. Glasgow's Necropolis is Scotland's answer to Pere Lachaise, the Parisian resting place of Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde. In fact, it was modelled on the French cemetery in the 19th century as a final destination for the great and not-so-good of Glasgow. Walk across the Bridge of Sighs to see another world of dark, baroque houses of death. Wear black - it's not compulsory, but it helps.
