Continental Drift
Continental Drift is collaboration between visual artist Michele Marcoux and poet Sheila Black that explores the “inner weather” of what is broken, lost, buried, and retrieved. The exhibit traces a landscape of float and drift, rupture and converge, considering what the “I” and the “eye” can hold or recover, particularly of the truth of women’s lives. Building on this, the paintings, found objects, sculptures and poem(s) look both at origin, disintegration, and echo in a landscape that covers beach vacations, the nuclear family and terrorism (domestic and global). And always with the notion of what it is to watch and witness.
