You can keep your Banksy. Bristol-based graffiti artist Inkie has been brightening up public corners of Britain for a lot longer, having come second in the World Street Art Championships in 1989.

He’s a bit of a star within his underground scene, and featured in graffiti documentaries Bomb It and Weapon Of Choice. Currently his work, including a specially commissioned mural, is on show in the more – how shall we put it? – “sanctioned” surroundings at Glasgow’s Recoat Gallery as part of their Ink Nouveau exhibition.

Shown here is Chateau Marmont, which brings the influence of William Morris and Alfons Mucha to the infamous LA institution where John Belushi died of an overdose.

Ink Noveau

Exhibition of new paintings, prints and a large mural in the gallery from legendary Graffiti artist, Inkie, a pioneer of the artform and a shining light in the UK’s street art scene.
