The Great Scottish Run

The Great Scottish Run

It’s Scotland’s Greatest Race – and there’s still time to join in and do your bit for charity! The Great Scottish Run leaves from George Square on Sunday September 6, and you can enter up to the day before.

The Great Scottish Run is Scotland's largest mass participation sporting event with 19,000 people of all ages, shapes and sizes taking part.

There’s something for everyone, from the half marathon for the serious runners, the 10k for those who feel that’s more their style, to the 1.5k and 3k junior races – so the kids can take part, too.

In fact, the kids get their turn first, with their races starting on Glasgow Green on Saturday, September 5, at 10am. Both races are open to anyone between the ages of nine and 17.

The adult races kick off from George Square the next day, the 10k starting at 9.30am and the half-marathon at 10.30am.

It’s still not too late to register, but organisers recommend that you don’t try to enter by post at this stage. You can enter online until noon on Tuesday, September 1, at www.runglasgow.org or you can enter in person at the late entries office – details below. Even if you enter online, you will have to pick your race pack from the office. You won’t be able to enter or get a race pack on the day itself.

The late entries office is at Jury’s Inn on Jamaica Street, Glasgow. Late office opening times:

Junior, Half Marathon & 10K entries
Thursday 3rd September 7.30am-8pm
Friday 4th September 8am-8pm

Half Marathon & 10K entries only
Saturday 5th September 9am-6pm
