The Making of Doubt

what?
Colette Sadler explores the realm between what is real and what is simulation. What happens when we mimic the movements of objects, which are designed to mimic us?

Artist and choreographer Colette Sadler explores the differences between reality and simulation in her latest work, The Making of Doubt, which tours to Tramway this month.

Dancers will interact with life-size dummies in a piece about mimicry and identity that combines serious investigation with humour.

The production premiered at the Spring Dance Festival in Utrecht, Holland, where one critic enthused that 'Sadler unites the best of tradition with the best of contemporary trends'.

The soundtrack is provided by *Zoviet*France*, a left-field music project from Newcastle Upon Tyne that could be broadly categorised as 'ambient' but is perhaps better left uncategorised. Expect looped and processed samples from unlikely sources.

Glasgow-based choreographer has an impressive reputation, cemented in 2003 when she was one of the recipients of a £30,000 Creative Scotland Award. She has a well-established relationship with Glasgow's Tramway as well as institutions in Belgium and Germany where she researched her new show.

Colette Sadler's The Making of Doubt is at Tramway from May 9 to 10.
