Life lessons
by Michael PringleEdinburghs Lung Has Theatre Company teams up with Drake Music Scotland to present joint production Can We Live With You?
The play tackles forced labour, people trafficking and alienation; but despite the serious themes, it is by no means bereft of humour.
The McScott family are particularly taken by a brochure; it seems to offer a place that is approaching something close to paradise. A place where stress-free living is the order of the day.
Follow the family on their journey as they give in to temptation and take a one-way ticket to the land of milk and honey, where the people are wonderful and the scenery breathtaking. Or will the reality fail to live up to expectations?
Lung Has is no ordinary theatre company. It was formed in 1984 and helps people with learning disabilities to become actively involved in performing. On an annual basis it produces a full company show, in which every member is involved.
Oh, and if anyone is curious about the name Lung Has, it originates from the name of their first production Lung Has Monkey.
Can We Live With You? is at Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh from April 3 to 5, and Platform, Easterhouse from April 10 to 11.
